Getting Started

After installing Power Reader, you need to enable it in Safari:

Open the Settings app on your device
Tap Safari
Tap Extensions
Toggle Power Reader on
Return to Safari and reload any page

What It Does

Power Reader boldens the first half of every word on web pages you visit. This visual technique helps your brain recognize words faster, making reading feel smoother and more effortless.

The effect is subtle — you may not notice it consciously, but your reading speed improves as a result.

Troubleshooting

Power Reader doesn't seem to work

Make sure Power Reader is enabled in Settings → Safari → Extensions
After enabling, reload the page you're viewing
Check that you're using Safari (the extension only works in Safari, not in other browsers)

Text looks different on some sites

Some websites use custom fonts or complex layouts. Power Reader works best on standard text content
If a page looks odd, you can quickly disable Power Reader from Safari's extension menu (the puzzle piece icon in the toolbar)

I want to turn it off temporarily

Tap the puzzle piece icon in Safari's toolbar
Toggle Power Reader off for the current page, or disable it entirely in Settings

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Power Reader work on all websites?

Yes. Power Reader works on any webpage you visit in Safari. Some sites with heavily stylized text may show less noticeable results.

Does it slow down browsing?

No. Power Reader is extremely lightweight and processes text as pages load. You won't notice any performance difference.

Is my browsing data collected?

No. Power Reader runs entirely on your device. It never sends data anywhere and has no analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind.

Does it work with Reader Mode?

Yes. Power Reader works in both standard and Reader Mode views in Safari.

Can I use it on my Mac too?

Yes. Power Reader is available for both iPhone/iPad and Mac as a universal purchase.
